Citizenship classes begin Jan. 17

The next round of citizenship classes for legal permanent residents of the United States is scheduled to begin on Friday, Jan. 17. Classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through March 21.

Beginner-level students will meet from 9-11 a.m., and intermediate students will meet from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at People's Community Services, 8625 Joseph Campau Ave. in Hamtramck. Classes focus on understanding the naturalization process and assisting immigrants with applying for United States citizenship.
