Dr. Abuelaish is an ob/gyn, a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, author and professor in Public Health at University of Toronto. Overcoming poverty and tragedy in Palestine, he is an influential voice for peace in the Middle East. He urges nonviolence, humanity and peace.

In 2009 Israeli tanks shelled his home, killing his three daughters. In their memory, he set up the Daughters for LifeFoundation. Its mission is to advance the education and health of young women in the Middle East, and develop voices and leaders of peace.

“The struggle for peace and freedom is inseparably tied together with the struggle for economic and social justice.”
- Former UAW President Walter Reuther
