Community Health & Research prescriptionsACCESS Community Health and Research Center has been in operation since 1988. It is the first of its kind—a fully integrated community health center that is comprised of medical, public health and research, mental health, family counseling services and environment programs.  Our philosophy is based on the premise that health promotion and disease prevention activities are the most humane and effective ways to ensure health and well being for the community at large. Keeping people healthy is the first step to success.

This modern medical center has maintained the designation of a Primary Care Level 4 facility in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) standards. All of the medical and mental health programs are designed to meet the United States Surgeon General's Health People 2010 recommendations, which advocate healthy behaviors and disease prevention.

Central to our mission statement is the provision of Public Health initiatives and the pursuit of research focused on the health needs of Arab populations locally and elsewhere. In addition, we serve as a training site for residents, nurses, and public health professionals in collaboration with the University of Michigan School of Public Health and Wayne State University Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing. The Wayne County Health Department's Women, Infants & Children (WIC) program, continues to experience significant growth.
