Our objective is to promote cardiovascular health awareness via cardiovascular health education and by designing and implementing projects that help reduce heart disease and stroke risk factors (high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, lack of physical activity, obesity, stress, etc) among the community.

Goal

  • Improve the community cardiovascular health status by decreasing morbidity and mortality
  • Encourage and support lifestyle modifications among community members (healthy eating, physical activity and tobacco-free life)
  • Increase community access to health care facilities

Program Services

  • Education: seminars, workshops, presentations, media (TV, radio, magazines, newspapers, websites), bilingual informative materials (brochures, fliers, fact sheets, pamphlets)
  • Direct services: home visit screenings (blood sugar and cholesterol, blood pressure measurements, BMI assessment, counseling, referral)
