Ten Ways to Hear Snow & The World Is Not A Rectangle

Join us for an English-Arabic Storytime in celebration of Ramadan and Eid, from the comfort of your home! Children ages 2-6 and their parents are invited to tune in as resident storyteller Sari Mira reads the books Ramadan Around The World and Eid Ka’ak in both English and Arabic.

Ramadan Around The World written by Ndaa Hassan and illustrated by Azra Momin follows the Ramadan Moon as it travels the world to visit children and their families observing Ramadan, showcasing how various cultures celebrate the Islamic holiday and illustrating the diversity of the global Muslim community. Children of various nationalities and abilities and families of diverse sizes and demographics are represented.

Eid Ka’ak written by Amjaad Al-Hussain and illustrated by Ahlam Almulaki follows Fatemah and Yahya, two Yemeni American kids celebrating Eid in America. Learn more about their Eid traditions and favorite baked delicacy, Eid Ka’ak.

The Storytime will go up at 1 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 24 on our Storytime page, where you can also check out previous Online Storytimes.

Due to the pandemic, we have been closed to the public since March 13, 2020. Closed doors mean that our earned revenue streams have dried up, and corporate funds have been pivoted to assist with COVID-19 relief or for their own financial survival. We are looking forward to the day we can safely reopen, but until then, we need your support.

Your donation today will help us weather this crisis.
