The ACCESS Community Health and Research Center will host its annual "Project Healthy Living" event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 14. The event is sponsored by ACCESS, Oakwood Hospital and Metropolitan Health Services. For more information, call 313-216-2202.

Free services include:

  • Height, weight, BMI, blood pressure
  • Body composition, blood oxygen test
  • Oral health education for children and parents
  • Oakwood Healthcare System: Glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure
  • HIV and syphilis education and screening
  • Gonorrhea and chlamydia screening (free for ages 24 and under)
  • Hepatitis B blood test
  • Substance abuse prevention education
  • Mammogram and pap smear (women 40 years old and above; enrollment and appointment only)
  • Oral screening and sealant application (children ages 6, 7, 12 and 13)
