ACCESS youth research world topics, create first peer newsletter

This summer, area youth embarked on a new and exciting experience. Students of all ages came together to create the first teen newsletter in the ACCESS Youth and Education Department. During a summer youth development course, participants improved their writing and English skills while contributing their insights on hotly debated topics in the news.

“The students were very passionate about writing and getting their voices heard. The students took on controversial topics such as war and offered solutions to create peace. I hope more youth and adults follow in their footsteps," instructor Bianca Frazier stated.

Writing and English are fundamental skills that the department incorporates in its youth programs offered throughout the year.

The ACCESS Youth and Education Department offers a variety of programs during the summer and through the academic year to enrich, develop and provide students with new opportunities.
