ACCESS to honor Dr. Mohamed El-Erian at 46th Annual Dinner

We are thrilled to announce that ACCESS will honor the brilliant and widely recognized thought leader, financial genius and respected bestselling author Mohamed A. El-Erian with the Arab American of the YearAward at our 46th Annual Dinner on April 22. El-Erian, a finance expert and advisor, was named one of the 500 most powerful people on the planet in 2013 by Foreign Policy magazine and listed as one of the Top 100 Global Thinkers, four years in a row (from 2009 to 2012), by the same publication.  
 
The former CEO and Co-Chief Investment Officer of PIMCO—an American investment management firm and prominent authority in the financial markets—El-Erian currently serves as the chief economic advisor to Allianz (the corporate parent of PIMCO) and is a regular columnist for Bloomberg View and contributing editor for the Financial Times. He is also a former President and CEO of Harvard Management Company, the entity served with managing the university’s endowment.
 
El-Erian appears regularly on CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg, along with other media outlets, to discuss economic and financial issues in the public and private sector. In 2011, 2012 and 2013 Worth Magazine named El-Erian to its Power 100 list, featuring The 100 Most Powerful People in Finance
 
El-Erian is the author of two New York Times bestsellers, When Markets Collide (2008) and The Only Game in Town (2016). His first book won the Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award and was named a book of the year by The Economist. This same published work was also dubbed one of the “best business books of all time” by The Independent.
 
In addition to serving on the board of several think tanks and academic institutions, El-Erian served as the chair of President Barack Obama’s Global Development Council, from 2012 to 2017. He has also chaired Microsoft’s Investment Advisory Committee since 2006 and co-heads the capital campaign for Cambridge University and its Colleges. El-Erian is also an honorary fellow of Queens’ College.
