ACCESS 46th Annual Dinner only two weeks away!

ACCESS’ 46th Annual Dinner, our signature event, is coming up fast! Join us on Saturday, April 22, 2017 as we celebrate 46 years of serving our communities, From the Neighborhood to the Nation, with our friends and supporters, including local, state and national officials and leaders from business, labor and nonprofit organizations.

We’re happy to announce that ACCESS will honor the brilliant and widely recognized thought leader, financial genius and respected bestselling author Dr. Mohamed A. El-Erian as a 2017 Arab American of the Year Awardee. Dr. El-Erian was named one of the 500 most powerful people on the planet in 2013 by Foreign Policy magazine and listed as one of the Top 100 Global Thinkers, four years in a row (from 2009 to 2012), by the same publication.

We’re also thrilled to honor retired surgeon and champion of public health Dr. Rashid A. Abdu as our second recipient of the 2017 Arab American of the Year Award. Dr. Abdu embodies the spirit of leadership, ingenuity and compassion that this award has come to represent and exemplifies the perseverance and humbleness at the heart of the immigrant contribution to the American success story.

Additionally, in recognition of ACCESS’ time-honored commitment to the revitalization of the city of Detroit and the empowerment of our youth, we are thrilled to be joined by the Detroit Children’s Choir (DCC) for this year’s Dinner entertainment! Founded in 2006, DCC has leveraged the power and discipline of choral singing to bring together students in the tri-county area to foster team building, creativity, and social interaction - a bridge toward greater understanding and connection.

Our Annual Dinner is the largest event of its kind in the United States, and attracts more than 2,000 guests each year. This unforgettable night will highlight the inspiring stories of those we serve and celebrate the wonderful individuals who impact others through their service, each and every day. Don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of this highly-anticipated, annual event!
