Individual Placement and Support – Evidence Based Supported Employment

The Supported Employment Program was created to help individuals dealing with a mental illness or struggling with trauma, find employment opportunities. Our program is aimed at securing a promising future for individuals and their families through job searching and training. We offer a variety of services with several goals in mind, such as:

  • Providing individual choice of employment opportunities
  • Enhancing and developing the employment skills of each member
  • Ensuring the greatest opportunity for success
  • Helping to explore a variety of options regarding returning to work
  • Aiding with benefit and entitlement planning

Some of the services may also include short term employment with a job coach or full-time employment. We work with Michigan Works and Michigan Rehabilitation Services in order to provide the most help with resources, training and job opportunities. Rehabilitation Services are also offered through the Gathering Place, ACCESS’ Employment and Training One-Stop-Center.

Many consumers are successful in maintaining employment with the help of the Supported Employment Program. They report a sense of accomplishment and an increase in self-esteem and confidence.
