Community Stories

The Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) has nearly 100 programs that strive to assist, improve and empower people in the community locally and nationally. These stories highlight ACCESS programs in the community and across the country, as well as clients who are positively impacted by the organization. On June 26, 10 local entrepreneurs gathered with ACCESS Growth Center staff, advisory board members, partner organization representatives, family and friends to celebrate their graduation from the Growth Center IGNITE advanced business training program. The businesses represented by the cohort ranged from a logistics company to a collectively-owned coffee shop.

Throughout the month of June, 22 high school students across Wayne County participated in the Arab American Youth Leadership course at ACCESS.

The ACCESS Community Health and Research Center (CHRC) received special recognition on June 13 from the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) and the Delta Dental Foundation for its commitment to providing oral health care to children in the Dearborn area.

ACCESS, the largest Arab American social services agency in the United States, teamed up with more than 40 regional employers to help put Metro Detroit residents back to work during a job fair on June 4.

ACCESS Executive Director Hassan Jaber and board member Amal Berry-Brown were recently featured in the newspaper's coverage of immigrants and their positive impact in Michigan.
