A summer of learning was provided to children and teens in ACCESS’ summer arts program. Students ages 8 to 18 worked with an instructor to learn techniques to create modern and traditional artwork from Egyptian, Chinese and South American cultures.

ACCESS and the Arab American National Museum (AANM) are pleased to congratulate Diane Rehm, longtime radio personality and host of the award-winning The Diane Rehm Show on NPR for being named a 2013 National Humanities Medal award recipient by President Obama.

The Teen Grantmaking Initiative (TGI), a group of 20 young philanthropists in Michigan sponsored by the Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP), recently awarded five $1,000 grants to area non-profit organizations serving youth in the metro Detroit community.

This year has been an incredible experience for the Rolling Thunder youth basketball team at ACCESS. The team recently won the league championship and finished top in their season.

On June 26, 10 local entrepreneurs gathered with ACCESS Growth Center staff, advisory board members, partner organization representatives, family and friends to celebrate their graduation from the Growth Center IGNITE advanced business training program. The businesses represented by the cohort ranged from a logistics company to a collectively-owned coffee shop.
